Halloween is approaching really soon as pumpkins and skeletons can be seen almost everywhere. Just in time for this Halloween's thrill and excitement, Cody's horror/thriller film "Forget Me Not" is going to be shown at Screamfest Horror Film Festival! to be held at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood CA on October 22, 2009 @ 7pm.

A Statement: Life Under a Magnifying Glass

Imagine yourself having a celebrity status, life under a magnifying glass… your every move being watched and criticized. Every little thing you do is often fabricated by other people while the truth is not unveiled to the public eye. How hard must it be to live under the public’s eye?

Recently, a tabloid rubbish about Cody floated out of nowhere… tabloid with pictures from 9 months ago with false story posted behind it surfaced the internet that caused some negative speculations from fans. But just like what happen to other celebrities, the story posted behind the pictures was fabricated to make it look so bad.

Cody Linley’s Mom, Mrs. Sullivan was kind enough to clear up the tabloid trash and wrote a statement to be posted here on LinleyLove.Org:

I had to write. I couldn't sit back and listen to the "bad publicity" again without making a comment. When it happens to Cody, he simply says "It's part of being in the public eye. That's the way tabloid magazines get their money. It sells magazines. Don't worry about it. People can see through that stuff."...but I just get defensive of Cody, because he's such a sweet boy.

The pictures were taken in January 2009...not as insinuated by the article "Cody's latest tactics". (You can tell. He's got short black hair in the pictures. Right now, his hair is long and blonde). It was when Cody was on tour with Dancing with the Stars and they were in Orlando. After a performance, several of them went to a block party where people wrote all over each other...faces, arms, chests. He had his picture taken with many fans. As always, he would put his arm around each fan (as many of you know) and one kissed him right as the picture was taken. He picked up a girl who was having a birthday. He does that alot (as many of you know). He just picked up a girl at the Disney thing in Annaheim, California a few weeks ago because it was her birthday and he put her in a chair and he sang "Happy Birthday" to her as many pleased fans, moms and dads watched.

There are 1000s of pictures that are taken with Cody every month with fans and some people do some weird things! The tabloids will put "made-up stories" beside them that don't even have anything to do with the pictures.

Cody is 19 and will soon be 20. He is a kind, sweet, and is a very generous person, but he is going to make mistakes sometimes and he's at the age where he going to try things as he is trying to "find himself" and be independent. He is going to have fun and get goofy and sometimes do things people don't understand, but sometimes....magazines and people are just going to be mean and calculating to him just to get a "Picture" so that they can say it is something it is not...just so they can sell magazines, just like this fan who kissed him right when the picture was taken. (You can tell he is not kissing her). People ask him for a picture while he tries to eat dinner all of the time. He still tries his best to be kind and generous. I would not be that nice.

I'm about the same age as Cody, I may not be a celebrity like him but I know how it feels to be criticized. To sum it all up, this is the real world, people in general make mistakes, we just have to be open-minded and go on with life... that is how we learn.
