Superstar Interview: Cody Linley

How did you get involved in this project?
About 8 months ago, my friends Alyson (Stoner) and Emily (Osment) told me about it, and I was hooked. After I auditioned for the part of Matthew, they told me I should play the part of Jesus.

Did your mom help you with your acting?

She guided me through everything. She put me first. She gambled with me. She did everything she could to support me. She's a beautiful person, 100% supportive.

Are you close with her now?
Oh yeah, she's my partner in crime, she keeps me moving. We went on this acting journey together. My whole family is supportive, but my mom is the one who has really guided me.

What would you do if you had a kid, you brought him to a restaurant and he started throwing a temper tantrum. How would you get him to calm down?
I'm 19! I don't know what you're supposed to do!

I know, but pretend.
Well I would think of a quick game to play to get him to be quiet. I always wanted to play a game when I was little. It always calmed me down. We could play, like, "I Spy" whisper-style.

Cody Linley Gets Us in the Holiday Spirit!

It might be the Rockefeller Christmas tree, the storefront-window decorations, or maybe the first snowfall of December that gets you into the holiday spirit, but for us it was our newest crush, Cody Linley. Cody sat down with Seventeen and gave us our very first candy cane of the year (how sweet!).

While we were sitting around eating yummy cookies that Cody jokingly told us he baked himself, we got to talking about the idea of breakouts, especially during the holiday season. With his work with acneheroes.com, Cody’s learned a thing or two about skin myths: “[Acneheroes.com] has tips from actual dermatologists about the real truth about acne myths!” So, fact or fiction: Holiday treats will make us break out? False. “Luckily for me and for all of you who are like me and have a sweet tooth, it’s not true,” says Cody, who cautions not to go overboard. “But, hey, it’s the holidays and you’ve got to indulge and eat your mom’s food.” Cody also says that to make sure your skin's at your best, “keep consistent” with your products. “You want to look your best for your holiday pictures and for your grandma when she pinches your cheek." And Cody will be doing just that at his home in Dallas when his family comes over for Christmas.

Speaking of pictures, sounds like somebody else will be snapping a few pics soon. Cody told Seventeen he’s getting his Dancing with the Stars partner a camera for Christmas. “When I was on set, I brought my camera so I could capture my memories and just cherish the moment. She was like, 'I should do that. I need to get a camera.’ And I was like: Hmm, I’m just going to keep that in my head. We don’t want to let the "hat" out of the bag (or get Julianne’s hopes up!), but there may be more. Cody said that he might be giving her something she’s had her eyes on for a while that Cody wore on the show. seventeen.com
